Continuing the journey of my arrival at home
... we have basic rules to follow, which are not so terrible, they are very
interesting, the first thing is to leave your shoes at the entrance of the house,
can only walk with slippers, which does not is terrible and so it stays cleaner
, which I think might be good to take home , Mother would be happy ! .... the doggies
also should walk with slippers ... Do you recognize my shoes in the picture??,
nice shoes! .
The other is recycling , but that's not only a
requirement of the house, is a requirement of the sector, I don’t know if it is
nationwide , but all households have the same rubbish cans, it separate for
different colors, interesting. Following recycling in the supermarket you have
to carry your own bag, but they are charged to your bill in some stores,
especially in supermarkets, but no one will pack your things, so you do not
spend in tip ...
These are some things you have to get used when
purchasing and they ask if you want to pack your things, sometimes is difficult
to understand at first because the people from Manchester have a “mancunian accent”
and you say " What? " But they
are nice people and always say “sorry” and thank you .
Transportation is not so different, you must to pay the driver (It is not like “Transantiago”, The British are smarter than we are, that’s why they didn’t adopt it), the only thing is extremely overpriced, each journey costs about £ 2.20 there are options to go a whole day paying only once £ 4.0 or pay a full week £ 12.50 and ride all the trips that you want, that's very good in case you want to go out many times in the week. When you get on the bus you always have to say “hi” to the driver and when you get off say “thank you”. What else ? mmm ... I struggled to find some things like where to buy makeup, often they are sold in the supermarket , as well as medicines ... I don’t find the same products that in my country, so I have to read well them, for example, if it’s soap or shower cream, is not so easy. I believed I could find the same brands in Chile.
How you know, the driving is in the left side, and that is extremely stressful when you have to cross, I always see both ways, I still getting used to it yet . On the other hand, the days are very short, the sunset is about 4 pm when the day is relatively nice ... that's terrible because for me is time to go to bed, but I'm slowly getting used to it . The night is very long, people get to drink from 3 pm in the afternoon because the night is coming , plop! here, people are extremely Bohemians, Spanish people say the pubs or discos close too early, at 3 am , but I would say it's okay because they get to fun from 3 pm, What does they want?!!. Most striking, (unfortunately I have no photos), women walk around with mini , with a very thin tights (hopefully) and shoes without socks , men walk around with t-shirt or shirt , and when they have parties women wear very short dresses, and some sometimes sleeveless, some of them wear top and tight pants ( that means showing the navel ) and they drink anywhere on weekends, when they travel by train they get on it with the glasses of beer ... they are crazy, and I'm not the only one who thinks it!!.
Long live to Manchester ! ! bye
Wow ... my friend, I learned so many interesting things for me, I have a lot of questions, I'm so interested (((= My friend, I found a lot of similarities with my country, it is so surprising for me (((= About the trip, my friend, in my country the cost of taxi ride different from the cost by public transport, as it is in your country, and how it is in Manchester??? Tell me about cosmetics, what cosmetics companies name is in your country and what the name of the cosmetic companies are in Manchester??? (((=
ResponderBorrarHi...the cost of the taxi ride is more expensive in my country, depends on the city (i.e. in Arica is cheaper than Stgo), in Manchester is more expensive too, It is better take the bus and buy the ticket for the week or month.
BorrarAbout cosmetics, in Chile we have the same international big brands like Maybelline, Loreal, H. Rubenstein, Lancome, E. Lauder, Dior, Chanel (too expensive) and some nationals brands too, they're cheaper but are very good too, and in Manchester the same and maybe others national brands,,,but I don't know the names..:((
